Welcome to the second edition of the Northern Local Government Handbook; a comprehensive guide to all aspects of local Government in Northern Ireland. The book is published by bmf publishing in association with the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) 'the voice of local government' representing the 26 councils in Northern Ireland. It is, we believe, the only substantial book published that draws together all elements of Local Government in Northern Ireland and presents detailed information in a useful and insightful format.

The handbook is aimed at being an authorative and useful information source which should appeal not only to those people directly active in Local Government - including elected councillors and officials - but also to all the partner organisations and businesses servicing the local government sector.
